Part of my daily routine includes a walk to and from a subway station located at Bloor and Jane, one of the streets I walk almost every day. This route has become almost second nature to me. I can almost walk it with my eyes closed. In fact I often do, trying to find my footing, one step in front of the other, by listening.

There are common sounds to this space that have become like friends to me. Unbound by time, new sounds continually appear. When this happens, I open my eyes and look, which helps make me aware of where I am. This recording is of one such walk. It’s a regular walking meditation, in a way from, point A to B.

This recording was not altered or changed in any way. The compositional technique is about planning out my movements through space, at a specific time.
