Toronto has a dilemma: It can afford new, high tech trains for municipal transport. However, it cannot develop other services to meet the city’s needs. What does this disjuncture mean?

As part of my Time and Space series, featuring recordings of urban Toronto, I decided to explore this problem by capturing the sounds of a newly-purchased TTC train, headed north, on the Spadina subway line.

For previous installations in this series, see  Willard Avenue and Time and Space. They are also featured in Souciant’s SoundCloud player, as well as below.
